What is a Fibroblast Treatment?

Fibroblast treatment is a non-surgical lift procedure giving similar results as traditional surgery. Numbing is applied locally prior to treatment. This innovative technique will not only the tighten excess skin is areas treated during the procedure. Patients are able to notice results right away although it takes 2-4 weeks for full effect to be visible and will can continue to improve three months post treatment.

How does the Fibroblast work?

The Fibroblast hand-piece produces a tiny plasma arch which leaps from tip to the skin in a tiny sized dot. This superficial point minimises the skin in its immediate surrounds. This reduces the excess skin, tightening the treated area. A series of tiny brown doots are strategically placed to attain the desired result for the excess skin. The skin around the spot tightens pulling the cells closer together. It’s the only non surgical treatment to successfully reduce the excess skin instantly.  There is no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. Patient can resume regular activities right away with minimal discomfort.

Is consultation required?

Yes, anyone interested in Fibroblast procedure is required to have face-to-face 30minute consultation. Each person and treated area is different and needs to be determined individually. Our goal is to keep clients informed and meet their expectations.

How is the Fibroblast treatment performed?

The fibroblast tool creates plasma flash which travels from the tool’s tip to treated area. The tool itself never touches the skin however plasma flash creates a tiny dot upon the contact. Further points are applied i a grid over the treatment area. This in effect causes tightening of skin fibers. Only surface of the skin is affected and deeper layer known as the basal lamina is not. Fibroblast is non-invasive treatment, no cuts to the skin or stitching is necessary.

How long is the Fibroblast procedure?

Depends on the volume of area being treated, however the average treatment takes between 1-3 hours.

What to expect during the treatment?

Fibroblast is non-surgical treatment with no pain or minimal discomfort reported by patients. You will be advised a topical numbing cream to the treatment area prior to procedure. Immediately after the treatment the skin will be reddened, lightly swollen and can feel a little like sunburn. This will usually last up to 3 days, although slight redness may remain for up to 2-3 weeks. Please note upper eye lids will have swelling for approx 3-4 days. During the procedure carbon crusts will form on the skin directly where Fibroblast tool was applied. Crusts should not be touched for 5-10 days.

Are there any side effects after the treatment?

Fibroblast is very safe and side-effects are rare but infection, scarring and temporary change of skin pigmentation may occur if patient doesn’t follow the adequate aftercare. Carbon crusts, a tiny superficial dots which form directly on the skin are part of normal healing process and when correctly treated with after care cream will cause no threat and fall off 5-10 days after treatment. Mild swelling is expected during first 3 days and usually entirely gone by day 5.

What is the fibroblast after care?

Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation and swelling. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although.  This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period.  Cold compresses may be applied to reduce the swelling.  If the swelling is more severe, an anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling. Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It is essential to not pick at this crusting as this may lead to infection or scarring.  Occasionally the treated area may become a little weepy, this is part of the normal healing process and will improve with time.

It is very important to follow our after care recommendations. Carbon crusts CANNOT be scratched or removed. Drying skin by dabbing with a clean, lint-free cloth is allowed. Sports, swimming and sauna are not permitted until crusts fall off. SPF 50 must be used on the treated area for a minium 30 days after treatment.

Can I use cosmetics after the procedure?

The treated skin area will be covered with carbon crusts which form during the treatment. They should not be rubbed off therefore it is necessary to avoid any moisturizing creams for 5-10 days. This is when usually crusts fall off. In addition, patients need to avoid all direct heat sources such as sun, UV radiation, saunas etc for the period of at least 4 weeks.

How should I prepare for the treatment?

There are no specific requirements before the treatment. We suggest not to apply any cosmetics before the procedure. You should tell your practitioner about any recent medical conditions and medications taken. Mention any surgeries or aesthetic procedures performed currently on your skin.

Are the full effects of the Fibroblast procedure visible right away?

Most patients should notice the effect of the procedure right away. However, the healing will continue and the full result should be visible up to 8 weeks. In some cases patients may need more then one treatment. This depends on treatment area and skin condition as well as patient’s expectations.

How many treatments are required?

In some cases just one treatment may be sufficient, especially with lighter corrections. Many of the treatments will depend on a size of the treated area and customer’s desired degree of correction. Full effect of the first treatment will be visible up to 8 weeks following the procedure. If patient requires additional treatment to achieve optimal results those should be scheduled at 8 weeks intervals. Effectiveness of Fibroblast non-surgical lift is comparable to traditional techniques. In order to evaluate number of required procedures and choosing best treatment plan face-to-face consultation is required.

How long the effect of the treatment will last?

The treatment should last long term although it is hard to predict exactly. Ageing is dynamic process and there are many factors affecting patients individually. Lifestyle, diet and genetics just to mention few. As of today permanent results are not possible, after Fibroblast procedure or traditional surgery your skin will be a subject to ageing. Your skin will continue to relax (loosen) again. In some rare situations aging may be accelerated and effectiveness of Fibroblast would be shortened.
